What I Do
I partner with different teams across the business and newsroom to define metrics, develop reporting and provide analysis.
How I Got to The Times
I started out in Asian American advocacy nonprofit organizations, did a brief stint in corporate social responsibility, then finished up grad school for quantitative methods in the social sciences while working at FiveThirtyEight.
Interesting Fact
I joined the Data and Insights Group fantasy football league this year, drafted players solely based on if they had a tattoo and named the team Just Tattoo of Us. We’re doing terribly.
Most Important Business Lesson Learned
Make an effort to connect with people outside your department. I found so many opportunities to collaborate on interesting work when I joined the Asian Network and Diversity in Digital.
Favorite Movie
“Akira”
Favorite Book
“Complete Stories” by Flannery O’Connor or “Building Stories” by Chris Ware
What I Like About Working for The Times
My favorite thing is definitely all the talks and panels organized by employee resource groups, that are exclusively for NYT employees. I still think about Ava DuVernay’s Q. and A. from earlier this year. We hugged!
